Weather/Cancellation of Games (before games begin)
In the event of rain, the XSC schedule requires that all teams play. The schedule is limited in the amount of make-up dates during the season. However, if the amount of rain has damaged the fields or has left standing water, the games would have to be rescheduled. This is to be determined by the Xenia Soccer Club ONLY. Players do not play in the rain during lightning, thunderstorms or severe weather. The safety of your children is our main concern.
Game cancellations & rescheduling can ONLY be done by the XSC.
In the event that the XSC has canceled games due to bad weather or field conditions, a message would be put on the answering machine and the bulletin board at the concession stand. The cancellation will also be noted on the web site. We will make every effort to have this completed by 5pm.
The XSC will reschedule the games and call coaches who in turn will let their respective teams know of the revised schedule.
Severe Weather (After games have begun)
In the event of the following weather conditions, these are the procedures the XSC and its coaches should follow:
Lightning or Thunderstorm
a.Coaches are to get players and parents off the field and they are not to return to the fields until at least 20 minutes have passed after the last sign of lightning or sound of thunder.
b.Teams will have a 10 minute warm-up after being allowed back onto the fields and the game will resume at that time.
c.In the event that ½ of the game has been completed prior to the weather condition the game shall stand as a complete game.
d.In the event that the game has not been completed and darkness is ensuing, the coaches can shorten the quarters to complete the game before darkness.
e.In the event that the game cannot be started and completed prior to darkness, the coaches must call the XSC to get the game rescheduled.
